First Became Available May 1, 2002 - Immediate reservation requests temporarily unavailable. NOTE: property is being renovated, and we are taking future requests / and interest requests at this time. Please contact us if you are interested in the property, We will provide you with an update at that time. We may not be able to satisfy immediate reservations, but are very interested in your requests / desires for this property. Site Interest / Reservation Info Request This is country relaxation at its best. The parking area is a curved, level, gravel driveway under mature shade trees (pecan, walnut, hickory, and oak). It sits on top of a hill, which gives you a view of the Caney River valley below. There are several paths down to the pond and a nice walking area around the pond and further. The pond is stocked with bass, crappie, perch, and catfish. The birdwatching is wonderful and deer and other little critters are fairly easy to spot. The road to the site is a paved county road that is not too heavily traveled, so there is not a lot of road noise. (Yes, it's up and down hills, but nothing too bad.) The area attractions
include many large lakes open to fishing, There are also several very interesting small towns within a 50-75 mile radius. We really liked Hominy with those wonderful murals on many of the buildings in town and that excellent sculpture on the hilltop near the end of Main St. We seem to see antique shops in each small town we visit, so if that's your thing, you should really enjoy this area. Each little town seems to have a uniquely appealing restaurant to try. We especially enjoyed the Whiz Bang Café in Pawhuska. Go north on the road the Whiz Bang is on and you'll wander into the Nature Conservancy's Tallgrass Prairie Preserve. Just make sure you don't wander into the buffalo! The Oklahoma Aquarium
in Jenks is scheduled to open after Labor Day this year. It should be
well worth the drive and the cost of admission. This property rents for $75.00
per night, $450 per week. Weekend only is $200. The site with a motor
home furnished for the weekend is $400. (No alcohol or pets are permitted
if the motor home is also rented.)
